BOSTON CREAM PIE
One 8- or 9-inch 2-layer cake; about 12 servings

Traditionally called a pie because of the pans the layers were originally baked in, this is really a layer cake. Use sponge cake for light, airy layers or butter cake for a richer, denser cake.

Have ready 2 layers of:

  • Sponge Cake, Four-Egg Yellow Cake, or Buttermilk Layer Cake

Fill with:

Leave the sides exposed, but pour over the top:
