BROILED OYSTERS
Allow 6 oysters per serving

In a metal pie plate or on a baking sheet, make a thick bed of:

  • Rock salt

Adjust a rack so it is 5 inches below the heating element. Preheat the broiler. Scrub well, then shuck, above, leaving the oysters in the half shell:

Place the oysters on the bed of salt and broil about 2 minutes, until the edges curl. Garnish with:

  • Lemon wedges and grated peeled fresh horseradish
