APPLE FILLING
Enough for two 9-inch rings

Combine in a large saucepan and boil until the juices are thick and sticky, at least 4 minutes:

  • 2 ½ cups chopped peeled apples
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 6 tablespoons (¾ stick) unsalted butter
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Let cool slightly before spreading over the dough.
