Prepare Coconut Macaroons. For chocolate-coated macaroons, simply dip the baked macaroons in melted or tempered chocolate. For chocolate macaroons, combine the condensed milk with 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder or 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped, in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until the cocoa is dissolved or the chocolate is melted. Let cool before making the rest of the dough. Bake as directed.
