RED VELVET CAKE
One 8-inch 2-layer cake; 12 to 16 servings

This smooth and rich chocolaty cake has a distinctive red color.

Prepare Buttermilk Layer Cake. Add to the flour mixture 1 tablespoon (10g) unsweetened cocoa powder. Add 1 to 3 tablespoons red food coloring with the first addition of buttermilk. Fill and frost with a double recipe Cream Cheese Frosting.
