About thirty-six 2-inch rolls

Prepare and refrigerate the dough for:

  • Palm Leaf Rolls

Roll the dough into 2-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. The dough will be very sticky; flour your hands as necessary. Have ready one or more of the following:

  • Any of the fillings for coffee cakes, jam, or chopped fruit (1 ½ to 2 ¼ cups total)

Press an indentation into the center of each roll, making a ¼-inch rim. Fill each one with 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon of a filling. Cover and let rise until puffy and nearly doubled, about 40 minutes.

While the rolls rise, preheat the oven to 375°F.

Bake the rolls until well browned, about 20 minutes. Transfer the rolls to a wire rack to cool. If desired, sprinkle with:
