Prepare, using red onions:

  • Sautéed Onions

Prepare:

While the burgers cook, toast:

  • 8 slices rye bread

Place each burger on a slice of toast. Top the burgers with the onions and:

  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

Top with the remaining toast. Return the sandwiches to the skillet or griddle and heat over medium-low heat, turning once, until the cheese melts. Serve immediately.
