HAM BISCUITS
20 to 24 biscuits

In addition to this filling, try spreading the biscuits with a flavored butter.

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Prepare the dough for:

  • Buttermilk Biscuits

adding, if desired:

  • (¼ cup minced chives)

Roll out the dough to about ½ inch thick. Cut into 2-inch rounds with a biscuit or cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets and brush the tops with:

  • Melted butter

Bake until golden on top, about 15 minutes. Prepare:

Or have ready:

  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) butter, softened
  • (Pepper jelly, store-bought or homemade)

When the biscuits are cool enough to handle, split them. Spread with the honey mustard sauce or butter (and pepper jelly if using) and top with:

  • 12 ounces thinly sliced ham, country ham, or prosciutto

Serve warm or at room temperature.
