Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine:
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ¼ cup finely chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons minced onion or 2 tablespoons dried onion
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Form into meatballs 1 inch in diameter. Arrange in a 13 × 9 × 2-inch baking pan. Combine in a medium saucepan:
- 16 ounces jellied cranberry sauce (1 ½ cups)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- One 12-ounce bottle mild, tomato-based chili sauce
Stir over medium heat until the cranberry sauce melts. Pour over the meatballs in the pan. Bake, uncovered, until cooked through, about 30 minutes.
