Combine in a large pitcher:
- Two 750ml bottles dry red wine such as rioja, malbec, or shiraz
- ½ cup brandy
- ¼ cup Cointreau
- 6 tablespoons lemon juice
- ½ cup sugar, or to taste
Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add:
- 1 orange, cut into small chunks
- 1 lemon, cut into small chunks
- 1 tart apple, cored and cut into small chunks
- (1 cup sliced pitted peaches or plums)
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
