For an unclouded ice ring, let filtered tap water sit at room temperature for 1 hour before using.
Place in the bottom of a 4- to 6-cup ring mold, tube pan, or Bundt pan:
Cover with ice cubes or crushed ice, then add enough water to cover the fruit, herbs, and ice and freeze. When ready to serve, dip the bottom of the mold in cold water for a few moments, and invert onto a plate. Slide the ice ring into a punch bowl to float in the drink.
