This cocktail helped introduce tequila to wary Americans in the 1930s, but truly hit its stride in the 1970s, when it gained notoriety as the debaucherous beverage of choice for the Rolling Stones’s 1972 American tour.
Pour over ice cubes in a chilled highball glass:
- 2 ounces silver or reposado tequila
- 4 ounces orange juice
Stir well. Pour over the top:
- 1 teaspoon grenadine
Do not stir. Garnish with:
