HOT BUTTERED RUM
1 serving

An old-time New England favorite that is said to make one see double and feel single.

Place in a warmed 8-ounce mug:

  • 2 ounces dark rum
  • 1 tablespoon salted butter
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons powdered sugar, to taste
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1 whole clove

Fill the mug with:

  • Boiling water

Stir well. Sprinkle on top:

  • Freshly grated nutmeg
