NEGRONI
1 serving

This is our favorite bitter cocktail. A lower-proof version, known as the Americano, omits the gin and adds a few ounces of club soda on top. For a Negroni Sbagliato, omit the gin, reduce the Campari and vermouth to 1 ounce each, and top off with 3 ounces Prosecco.

Fill a mixing glass three-quarters full of ice cubes. Add:

  • 1 ½ ounces gin
  • 1 ½ ounces Campari
  • 1 ½ ounces sweet vermouth

Stir until well chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Alternatively, fill an old-fashioned glass with ice, add the above ingredients, and stir. Garnish with:

  • An orange twist
