LEMONADE OR LIMEADE

Orange, pineapple, raspberry, white grape juice, or other fruit juices may be combined with lemonade or limeade. To add a subtle twist, make the sugar syrup with 2 to 3 sprigs rosemary, a small bunch of mint or thyme, or a 2-inch piece ginger, thinly sliced. Let the syrup cool to room temperature and strain before proceeding. For Pink Lemonade, add 3 tablespoons grenadine. To make an Arnold Palmer, mix equal parts lemonade and Iced Tea. For a tarter beverage, use the smaller amount of sugar listed below.

Combine in a saucepan and boil for 2 minutes:

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups sugar, to taste

Add:

  • 5 cups cold water
  • 1 cup lemon or lime juice

Pour over ice cubes in tall glasses or into a pitcher of ice.
