VIETNAMESE AVOCADO SHAKE

While Americans tend to think of the avocado as a savory food, in many parts of the world it is used in sweet preparations. This rich shake is a strong argument in favor of the avocado as dessert. Play with the ratio of sweetened condensed milk to milk depending on the level of sweetness you prefer.

Combine in a blender:

  • 1 large avocado, pitted and scooped from the peel
  • 4 to 6 standard ice cubes or ¾ cup crushed ice
  • ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ⅓ cup milk or coconut milk
  • Pinch of salt

Blend until smooth.
